Sam Burns

Sam: Probably one of the coolest days of my life. I walk up to the tee first, I get a couple of claps, and it's like the red sea parted and then people just move out of the way and here comes Tiger, and I'm kind of catching myself doing this, just staring at him, and I reach out and I put my arm around and said, "Man, it's crazy all these people came out to watch me today, huh?" Golf has always been an individual sport. You kind of feel like you're out there alone and traveling all over the place, so it's nice to know that people back home are supporting me.

Larry: The one thing that I knew with total confidence is the quality of individual that we were aligning ourselves with.

Kade: When Sam was 15 years old, I got to play with him. So to see all of his success as a professional golfer has been a great thing to watch.

Larry: Not only has this guy got an amazing talent, he's a good person, fantastic character, great family, and that their values align so closely with ours, to me, it seems such a natural fit.

Sam: Living in Ruston, being close to the people from Origin Bank, I knew that it was people that I could trust. It even was just a phone call to Kade just to talk about, you know, my round of golf that day.

Kade: Sam is now a world traveler. I keep him up to date on his access to his accounts.

Larry:  And he's playing, and I've got my phone out, I'm tracking him stroke by stroke, play by play. Of course, I stay glued to my phone when you're playing, she got mad at me because I wouldn't listen to her, and she said, "When did you get interested in golf?"

Sam: I'm not so much representing just myself anymore, it's my family and, you know, Origin, and it's very humbling and I'm really looking forward to the next however many years.

Kade: Hopefully, the trust he has for me helps but I don't know if I'll be one of the top bankers in the world like Sam is with golf.
