Origin Bank's Houston Regional President Carmen Jordan Announced as Texas Bankers Hall of Fame 2024 Inductee

Origin Bank’s Houston Regional President Carmen Jordan will join the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame as a 2024 inductee. Jordan will be honored alongside four other inductees at the 11th Annual Texas Bankers Hall of Fame Gala on April 25.

“Carmen has built a reputation as a banker and leader who is always focused on her clients and community,” said Drake Mills, chairman, president and CEO of Origin Bancorp, Inc. “We are proud that her Texas banking legacy will be forever preserved with this well-deserved recognition.”

Jordan joined Origin as executive vice president and currently serves as regional president for the greater Houston area. She is responsible for ensuring the highest level of credit quality for all segments, including commercial and industrial, energy, real estate and private banking, while balancing growth with the appropriate level of risk. Since joining Origin in 2018, the bank’s Houston market has quadrupled loans and doubled deposits while improving overall credit performance and profitability.

A nationally recognized leader in banking, Jordan has been named by American Banker magazine as one of the “Top 50 Women in Banking”, one of the “Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas” by the National Diversity Council, and one of the “Top 15 Business Women of Houston” by the National Women’s Council. Under her leadership, Origin was awarded the “Top 100 Places to Work” in 2022 and 2023 by the Houston Chronicle.

Jordan actively supports her alma mater, Lamar University in Beaumont, where she was recently named a distinguished alumna. She serves on the advisory board and is past-chair of Lamar University’s College of Business and the Lamar University Foundation board, and currently serves on the board of Nativity Academy, a no-tuition-based Christian school in Houston. Her previous nonprofit involvement includes the Executive Women’s Partnership, Fort Bend County Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Holocaust Museum Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as the Houston City Club.

“I’m thrilled Carmen has been selected as an inductee into the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame,” said Lance Hall, president and CEO of Origin Bank. “Carmen embodies Origin’s mission and culture in everything she does. Her contributions to our team, our communities and to the banking industry are significant, and our entire team is proud to see her receive this incredible honor.”

Established by the Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking at Sam Houston State University, the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the accomplishments of outstanding bankers who have made valuable contributions to the banking profession and pioneered the Texas banking industry.
