MM Shapley's

Mark: How I got started, let's see. That's a good question.

Leigh: Well, actually, Mark probably doesn't remember this, but I met Mark when he was in his original location as he walked around greeting the customers, at some point during the night.

Mark: And the restaurant was fun, but it's such a consuming business. You have to be here all the time. We decided it was time to become a family and let the restaurant just kind of handle itself. This past year, the opportunity came back to take it back over. So the kids were grown, decided it was time to get back.

Leigh: And they've done a great job of coming back in here and just really reestablishing what they had, you know, 25 years ago.

Mark: Calling Leigh, I remember when it became imminent. I guess, really it was the first call I made. I mean, other than Mary, I think you were the first one obviously because I need to do this and I've got a lot to worry about, and how to pay for it's not one of them.

Leigh: In the back of my mind I'm getting excited, you know, and knowing that it's probably going to happen if he's talking about it. "Yeah, I'll take care of that, you take care of the restaurant, and we'll get this deal done."

Mark: So I left the bank, that was it. I didn't worry about it anymore. I knew when it came time, I'd called him and said, "Okay, I need you to put some money in this account."

Leigh: Actually, I think I said, "Does Mary know about this?"

Mark: Our relationship with Origin is strengthened by their ability and their willingness to bank the man more so than bank just the opportunity.

Leigh: Yeah, I wish I could come every day.

Mark: Our conversations is, you know, last 10 months, have just been personal. He's not coming because I need a loan.

Leigh: I want to support them, both with their business and anything else they have in their personal life.

Mark: And that's why I go by the bank a lot of times, not because I need anything, it's because I want to visit. Because I don't like borrowing money. I'd just as soon not borrow money. But if I have to, you've got to have someone that you care about and love enough to want to go to. And that's part of what we do.

Leigh: You just told them that you love me on camera.

Mark: I did. I do love you.

Leigh: I know you do.

Mark: I need some more money by the way.
